The Seven Dwarves (D&D 4e)
Adventure #1 WOTC DCC54 Forges of the Mountain King (Level 1)
Joy unconfined for the Dwarves, at last, number seven… which nicely coincides with the name of this campaign, and so the guys are about their business.
The area, actually areas, are searched- including all of the guard rooms- recently depopulated; all manner of junk is found but also, of course, lots of treasure- gold, silver, gems, jewellery and even a few platinum coins. The big prize is a magical spear, formerly wielded by the Hobgoblin Lieutenant, Fenchurch identifies it as being a +2 weapon which has other magical powers- an artifact almost, certainly a one-off. However, and after all of the fuss, none of the Dwarves want to use the spear- spears are it seems, certainly from a Dwarven POV, unmanly- or rather undwarfly.
The spear will be sold, or swapped, or replaced at some point in the future.
But for now, the Dwarf Priest- Master Gambolge gives up his treasures-
Grimm gets a +1 Holy Symbol, which he rededicates to Moradin.
Koda gets a Belt of Vigour, to go with his action pants.
Next up a cache of items is found up on the ledge, it seems the dead adventurers from the previous party were not the only victims of the cruel isolationist Dwarves here. Berend finds a couple of magic items to improve his chances of staying alive, and out of captivity-
Berend with a +1 Vicious Longsword and a suit of +1 Hide Armour.
Ragnarr settles for some new threads-
Ragnarr gets a suit of +1 Leather Armour, and looks rather jolly.
Just to say the players loved the last battle in the temple, and usually at this point (time-wise) the session would end, but the guys are pumped, and so invigorated the guys chase down any possible exits from the complex- they want more…
